How long will my Eyelash Extensions last?

Eyelash extensions are temporary and may last up to 3 to 8 weeks  depending on the after care. A natural eyelash life cycle is around 25-28 days and as yours grow and fall out, so will the extensions that are attached. If your hair and nails grow quickly then that means that your lashes will also be growing, shedding and renewing themselves quickly. You may find that your lashes may not last as long as someone with slow hair growth. Your lifestyle and the type of work you do will also have a bearing on how long they will last. A person who works in the food industry, where there is quite a bit of heat, steam and oil may not last as well as someone who works in an air conditioned office.

Will I lose any of my own natural eyelashes?

As long as you do not pull your eyelash extensions or use products not recommended, you do not have to worry.

What type of glue do you use?

Medical grade adhesive.

What is the length each of the extension?

We have all lengths for the individual lashes. Semi-Permanent eyelash extensions vary in length between 7mm- 16mm.

Are the  eyelash extensions glued to my skin?

No, Lula's Lash Room apply them 1mm away from your eye lid to your individual natural eyelashes.

I pull out my own natural lashes, can I replace them with Individuals or semi- permanent lash extensions?

Semi-Permanent Eyelash Extensions need to be attached to your own natural lashes. The adhesive is formulated to attach to hair, therefore the glue will not adhere to your skin, only your natural lash. You will not be a good client for eyelash extensions since you pull out your lashes in patches or clumps. You may try an eyelash strip since they attach to the upper eyelid skin.

Can I use an eyelash curler to curl my individual/semi lash extensions?

No, an eyelash curler will weaken and cause the semi-permanent eyelash extensions to lift and come off.

Can I wear mascara?

Yes, but we recommend you use mascara formulated for extensions. Mascara will also shorten the life of your lash extensions. You can roll out of bed looking great and young as ever. Best of all, it will make your lashes look like you are wearing mascara 24/7 without the clumping, streaking, smudging look that you get from mascara usage. No more running and streaking mascara which is fantastic for brides on their wedding day and we also have an increasing number of mothers-to-be prepping their eyelashes for the big event.

Can i still wear make up?

Yes, but you don't need mascara and you may find that you won't need eyeliner. You may still use eyeliner or eye shadow, but remember to remove with a product that does not contain oil of any kind as this will affect the glue over time.

Will you provide me with aftercare instructions?

Yes, Lula's Lash Room provide all clients with aftercare instruction cards after each visit and an eyelash brush to help maintain the lashes.  We also carry after care products that will help extend the life of your individual lash extensions.

What are Russian Volume Lashes?

The Russian Volume Lash technique which was developed in Russia and is now spreading rapidly to the US and Europe, consists of applying multiple eyelash extensions to each natural eyelash in a fanned shape. This can result in having 200- 500 or more eyelash extensions applied to each eye, rather than the regular 80-100 extensions per eye with the classic 1:1 eyelash extensions. The extensions used are even lighter, and finer than the Siberian Mink Eyelash extensions and require a significant amount of skill, therefore multiple lashes can be applied without causing damage to the natural lash, looking “clumpy”, or feeling too heavy and unnatural. When multiple volume lashes are applied, they create a full and natural feather-effect look, anything up to 1000 lashes can be applied to each eye however 3-500 maintains a natural albeit glamorous look. They can last up to 6-8 weeks before needing a refill. Russian volume lashes should not be confused with 'cluster', 'Y' or 'W' lashes.

The following clients may not wear eyelash extensions

Rubbing eyes - It is suggested that if you are an "eye-rubber" due to allergies such as hay fever or rubbing your eyes is a habit, you may not be able to wear extensions.

Sensitive eyes - Having irritation around the eye area after using skin care or makeup, extensions may not suit you.

Eye allergies/ sinuses - If you have a cold, sinus or allergy infection, please do not have this service done! Your lashes will not last a long time due to secretions and irritation from the eye area.

Curly lashes - Due to your lashes being curly you are not the best candidate for extensions, although an experienced technician should not find this too much of a problem. Eyelash extensions are happier applied to straight lashes as they lay properly. Curly lashes tend to shorten the lash wear time. Generally, people with curly lashes, extensions may not last very long before they start to lift. If you have exceptionally curly lashes you may want to purchase products to straighten your lashes. After treatment of the lashes you may then want to try this service.

No Lashes - A person without any lashes may not wear lash extensions because there is no where to place them. Extensions must be placed on the natural lash and not the skin. These clients must refer to a strip lash.

*Patch test will be required 24hrs prior to appointment if this is the first time you've had eyelash extensions*

Important Rule for wearing eyelash extensions:

"The Less You Touch Them, The Longer They Will Last!" However it is important to keep the eye area clean.
